Women nowadays tend to care for their mammary gland (breast) so much to the extent of jeopardizing proper breastfeeding for their babies, with the hope of preventing their breasts from sagging.

Adequate and enough breastfeeding is of great health benefit to both the baby and the mother. Extensive six months breastfeeding for the baby before exposure to other food substances is very healthy for the baby.

The breast milk is a natural and healthy food for babies. It is full of nutrients and it is much safer for the wellbeing of the babies for at least the first six months after delivery than any other food.

Breastfeeding helps the baby by supplying the brains additional nutrients hence a baby that is well breastfed tends to be smarter and sharp than the baby that was not well breastfed.

Also, breastfeeding helps in preventing of breast cancer in women, and in some women, breast feeding also serve as a mean of natural contraception with no complications.

Breast feeding also creates a form of natural bond between a mother and the baby. The mammary gland had been created in such a way that it is safe and the milk in it cannot be contaminated, unlike man made foods.

The breast milk is designed to be a complete nutrient it has water in it, and that is why women giving exclusive breastfeeding to their babies do not need to give water to their babies just the breastmilk.

For this (past) World Breastfeeding week this is a form of sensitization to women, single and married about the importance of breastfeeding and breastmilk. Do not deprive your babies of the breastfeeding and practice exclusive breastfeeding.
