IS NIGERIA PLUTOCRATIC?

Plutocracy is the type of government run by the wealthy or a government controlled by the wealthy class. It is no longer news as to the amount needed to purchase nomination forms in the All Progressives Congress (APC), one of the major if not leading party in Nigeria.  The nomination forms for the positions of senator, governor and president cost nothing less than 170, 000, 000 naira which is about 310, 000 US dollars with the present naira to dollar exchange rate.  We should also note that purchasing of nomination forms is only the beginning of monetary expenses for political aspirants. Money spent on campaigns, which involves logistics, printing of banner, renting of billboards, television campaigns, and involvement of celebrities to help in the campaign process.  In the peculiar case of Nigeria, money is spent on ‘relief materials’ for possible voters who are enticed by these, thereby compelling the voters to vote the aspirant who is perceived as the highest bidder or sends more ‘re

THE “INHERITED” OR “GLOBAL” PROBLEM

Image
If you are familiar with the Nigerian media space, listen to the news, listen to press statements from government officials and politically elected officials, watch public hearings and press conferences. The words “Inherited” or “global” is cliché as the words are common ground for irresponsible government officials to leverage on. You may ask where the use of these words or the situation or the reason for the use of these words stem from! This is somewhat a very good question as these words are used by irresponsible government officials in Nigeria for their flagrant indisposition to responsibilities duly expected of them to fulfill.  Also the idea of politically elected officials using these words is not peculiar to them alone as these words can apply to person or persons who are responsible for certain things in an organization or society at large. Let me also state that these words can be used by any person or persons as they have different meanings as seen in differen

🇳🇬 I HAVE A DREAM💥

Written by Alamu Azeez "I Have a Dream" is a public speech that was delivered by American civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963, in which he called for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the United States. Delivered to over 250,000 civil rights supporters from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., the speech was a defining moment of the civil rights movement and among the most iconic speeches in American history. But in the context of my presentation, I HAVE A DREAM AND MY DREAM IS NIGERIA. A BETTER NIGERIA💥 or we say A NIGERIA OF OUR OWN LIKING💥 A Nigeria where things will be different from what we see today. A Nigeria that's devoid of hatred, inequality, elite conflict, opposition enmity, culminating corruption, mass defection and cross carpeting, abduction and assassination, interrupted power supply, mass unemployment, internal insurgency, administrative def

USE OF DRUGS AND ITS IMPORTANCE

WHAT IS A DRUG❓ Drug is a substance used as a medication or in the preparation of medications. It's used for easing pain and going over anxiety or suppress depression. *DRUG USE*💊 Drug use varies per persons/situations. While some use drugs because they're ill or prescribed to them by a physician to prevent themselves from ailments, others misuse drugs by taking it to avoid feeling bad, perform better in Academics/Athletics or because they see others doing it. Whenever you feel sick, awful, anxious, irresistible and irritable without drugs, then you need to consult a physician as your brain is already getting attached to the drugs and it can damage your health totally when you start abusing its use. *IMPORTANCE OF DRUG USE*💊 Medically, drugs are substance proven to cause change in any organism's physiology (body structure) or psychology (mental wellness). FACTS ABOUT SANITATION CULTURE IN NIGERIA

Merriam webster dictionary defined sanitation as the promotion of hygiene and prevention of disease by maintenance of sanitary conditions (as by removal of sewage and trash). It is the constant and monitored removal and proper disposition of waste products at the appropriate place at all times in order to prevent dirty environment which in the long run help suppresses the issue of diseases spread and contamination. Culture of sanitation is one that's dearth among Nigerians perhaps because waste disposal trainings aren't inculcated in the educational syllabuses across all educational levels. Even religious books preaches cleanliness as it's said that cleanliness is next to godliness and from the teaching of the orthodox Islamic religion, it's said that God won't accept your prayers unless you're cleaned. Little would one however wonder why so many Nigerians dispose waste lackadaisically without foreseeing the dangers attached to a very dirty environment which in

PHILOSOPHY OF DISSEMINATING INFORMATION

By Alamu Azeez (Mr. Nigeria) As a growing communication expert and PR personnel, I found myself getting conscious of the various menace and hurdles caused by perpetual dissemination of unauthenticated information by many social media users. Most of whom share this information with the subconscious mind of helping the readers not knowing they're worsening the security situation of the country most especially in the face of increase cybercrime and artificial intelligence without adequate security record or check. Many Nigerians today are fond of sharing information that depicts bad image of the country rather than the one that portrays the country in good/positive image. This is because many are unaware of the country's Citizen's Diplomacy policy initiated by the government to redeem the image of the country home and abroad. You can imagine how a Nigeria citizen by birth and resident in Nigeria would share *"Nigeria is the home to criminals of all kinds in the world"

Social leadership or Political leadership, which way Nigeria?

Social leadership or Political leadership, which way Nigeria? First I'm of the support of Social leadership as against political leadership. What is social leadership in the first instance? Social leadership is tied to morality, ethics and the leader’s sense of duty towards society whilst others consider it to be how deftly a person can employ their social and emotional skills to lead others. Political on the other hand is guided by Law which employs some people to lead and by the provision of the constitution. Social leadership is an example of the egalitarian system of governance employed by the pre-colonial administration of the igbo land in which the older and the younger groups took it upon themselves to serve the community.  Social leadership means to devote one’s life and talents to improving society regardless of social standing, wealth, or privilege and Political leadership should be for the improvement of the society too but in real sense, especially in Nigeria, Political

Contentment

Image
Contentment - How to overcome unhealthy competition. Contentment as defined by the British English dictionary is happiness in one's situation and satisfaction. It introduces us to the concept of being happy and satisfied regardless of your situation. This means that your happiness is not tied to whether your circumstance warrants you being happy or not. I view contentment as a choice you make. You chose to be satisfied despite your unmet needs. No one can make that choice for you, it is your call to make. In basic economics, we were taught that human needs are unlimited and there are limited resources available to meet those needs. The implication of this is that regardless of one's level of wealth and affluence, the probability of having zero need is very slim. So if you tie your contentment to the amount of wealth you can accumulate or amaze, or you tie it to the more I have, the happier I will be. Then you have a very slim chance you will ever be happy or satisfi

Humanity

Image
Indeed we now live in a world where vice is a norm and seeing people's tears is nothing to worry about. The pain people go about with daily without anybody to pour out to is a concern to think if humanity actually exists.  I once said Religion and Humanity is totally different because you can be religious and still be cruel and heartless. You can be a devout worshipper of God and still not being humane but others argue that strong religion will give you the best version of humanity. Overtime, I've been an advocate of humanity is the best religion ever but then, must everyone abandon their instincts to become truly human and humane?  There is a virus of cruelty and wickedness ravaging the human world making the love of humanity just a mirage but sad to say there is no more hope because it is like every sin became concentrated and entered the human body. Even if we can conquer this virus, a world in which humanity rule may never return.  Can we actually believe people
