🇳🇬 I HAVE A DREAM💥

 Written by Alamu Azeez

"I Have a Dream" is a public speech that was delivered by American civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963, in which he called for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the United States. Delivered to over 250,000 civil rights supporters from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., the speech was a defining moment of the civil rights movement and among the most iconic speeches in American history. But in the context of my presentation, I HAVE A DREAM AND MY DREAM IS NIGERIA.

A BETTER NIGERIA💥 or we say A NIGERIA OF OUR OWN LIKING💥

A Nigeria where things will be different from what we see today. A Nigeria that's devoid of hatred, inequality, elite conflict, opposition enmity, culminating corruption, mass defection and cross carpeting, abduction and assassination, interrupted power supply, mass unemployment, internal insurgency, administrative deficiency, currency depreciation and devaluation, gerontocratic and plutocractic tendency, selfish political interest, ethnic militias, tribal clashes among other socioeconomic and political pathologies.

Martin Luther King Jr said in the year Nigeria became a Republic; 1963 as I quoted below:

"I still have a dream, a dream deeply rooted in the American dream – one day this nation will rise up and live up to its creed, "We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal. I have a dream ..."

Today, I also have similar dream to transmogrify Nigeria to the Nigeria of our own liking. Nigeria where we won't have to wait for our leaders to do before we act.

I dream of a Nigeria that is against voiceless talks such as Obasanjo is bad, Death took Yaradua from us, Jonathan is corrupt, Buhari isn't better and administratively deficient. A Nigeria where we keep blaming leaders and refuse to take responsibilities. A Nigeria where Nigerians mindset towards Politics is pure and believe in Nigeria progress against the lackadaisical attitude towards the country's political posture.

I have a DREAM where Statements like "it doesn't concern me", "na Dem sabi", "Nigeria is a joke", "Nigeria can't make it now or again", "Nigeria is cursed", "even if Jesus come to Nigeria, he'll be corrupt" and more and more become a thing of the past. I believe that Nigeria can't change if Nigerians don't change. The problems in Nigeria are created by Nigerians themselves.

WHAT I SEE IN MY DREAM

A Nigeria that's

💥 Self-reliant and Self-service; were individuals won't wait for the government to do before they act.

💥 Enterprising and Industrious; where individuals won't wait for employers of labour to employ them as labourers but would stand up to invest their experience in productive activities.

💥 Enlightening; where graduates and school leavers would think outside the academic box and think of how to transfer their lessons and academic trainings into yielding and life changing endeavours.

💥 Not just Religious but also Godly; where Imams, Pastors, Clergymen and all congregations will act on what they study from the Heavenly Divine Books.

💥 Devoid of Fake, Fallacious and Destructive Information; where individuals most especially the youths and teens would stand up against fake news dissemination and always seek to confirm and authenticate whatever news they see on social media, nets, websites, blogs, media stations before dissemination.

Bill Clinton said "You don't have to wait till your party is in power before you have impact on life at home and around the world"

I dream of a Nigeria where all Nigerians irrespective of status and heritage or ethnic bond will embark on a mission to live a life for others. A life where everyone believes in the South African Proverb coined together in the acronym "UBUNTU" meaning "I'm Because You're".

A Nigeria where Nigerians won't wait for clergymen to preach before they act and will consciously remind themselves of the consequences of their actions.

Amidst polyglot posture of Nigeria, I dream of a Nigeria where state of Origin, religious beliefs, ethnic background, racial consideration, tribal affiliation, political sentimentalism, language difference, gender difference and above all family bond will not come in the way of merit and general happiness. A Nigeria where what I want for my immediate close associate is what I desire for my fellow countrymen.

MY DREAM is a Nigeria where there'll be Utmost Surbordination of Individual's Interest to the General Interest.

I believe My Dream correlate with the Dreams of the passionate and striving teens and youths out there!

If you believe in the Nigeria of my Dream, please share this article to all and sundry.💥
