Your Emotional Health,Is As Important As the Physical.

Healthiness is not merely about physical health, but also social, and emotional health. Only few of us as humans are concerned about our emotional healthiness because most times we only feel that we are unhealthy when we are physically sick, and get better with the help of drugs and injections. Although unlike physical health, being emotionally unhealthy is not obvious for all to see and even the person that is emotionally unhealthy can only get to be aware of his/her unhealthiness by being cognizance of change in emotional state and also being concerned about mental stability.  Just like the physical health, there are happenings that can be detrimental to our emotional health and mental stability, these include; breakup, jealousy, anxiety, fear, low self-esteem, as well as the feeling of sadness. Being emotionally healthy is one’s ability to control one’s thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Emotional health is the ability to cope with both positive and negative emotions.  Someone that i

Ojo Oluwaseun ojooluwaseunridwan@gmail.com ___________________________________________ I have listened to a lot of it. I have watched a lot of videos on YouTube about the Talks. What I am trying to say is that I have always been a fan of it - TEDx Talks.  On the 13th of August, I was present (as an audience) at the TEDx Talk live at the Perrforming Arts Theatre Hall, in the University of Ilorin. The program was indeed a celebration of Africa as it took us back to the "Root" at its theme reads.  A lot about Africa was displayed at the event and appreciated. I experienced another show of poetry reading, spoken words, storytelling, songs, photography, comedy and so on. To say the truth, it was a mixture of culture, fun, intelligence, networking and all.  It also served as an avenue for me to connect and reconnect with Arts. I also get to meet again my senior colleagues who have now graduated from the faculty of Law. The likes of Muhammed Akinyemi, who is now a lawyer and a journ

Temptation. Fine ladies.

Ojo Oluwaseun ojooluwaseunridwan@gmail.com ___________________________________________ Temptation and beautiful ladies are moving hand in hand. It is hard to see them passing without looking. You would want to look at them again and again. In my journey towards becoming a man, one of the basic things I have learned is that ladies attract. Yes... that beautiful ladies attract.  You would want to gauge within yourself, the amount of beauties they're carrying around as if it's your business. You would find yourself staring with concentration as if they're something other than mixture of bones and flesh and blood like every other two-legged beings.  I once heard a guy talking about the fact that, seeing a lady just once is never enough. He said you would have to look again. That, if it's back side you were able to see, you would want to look at the front so as to be sure that both correspond, ...to be sure that they have good shapes.  The question is, what if th

Importance of Breastfeeding.

Bakare Khadijat Olamide (Pure) bakarekadijatolamide@gmail.com ___________________________________________ Women nowadays tend to care for their mammary gland (breast) so much to the extent of jeopardizing proper breastfeeding for their babies, with the hope of preventing their breasts from sagging.  Adequate and enough breastfeeding is of great health benefit to both the baby and the mother. Extensive six months breastfeeding for the baby before exposure to other food substances is very healthy for the baby.       The breast milk is a natural and healthy food for babies. It is full of nutrients and it is much safer for the wellbeing of the babies for at least the first six months after delivery than any other food.       Breastfeeding helps the baby by supplying the brains additional nutrients hence a baby that is well breastfed tends to be smarter and sharp than the baby that was not well breastfed.        Also, breastfeeding helps in preventing of breast cancer in women,

The Importance of Reading in Academic Success

Olanrewaju Oluwatosin  Oluwatosinolanrewaju10@gmail.com ___________________________________________ Reading is one of the four language skills and it is unarguable that it is a passive skills as opposed to speaking and writing which are active skills. Most students perceive reading as an Herculean task so they tend to avoid it. It is irrefutable that every student is willing to graduate with first class but the heartbreaking point is that not every student will painstakingly imbibe the habit of paying the price that will catapult them to success  It is evident that there are misconceptions about academic reading, students only read when examinations are knocking at the door or when they have tests to write. However, institutions and the society at large seems to have embrace these misconceptions. Parents only encourage their children to read only during examinations, even our so called institutions tend to run a 24 hour library service during examination periods. This act is tantamount

National Drama

Oluwaseun Ojo ojooluwaseunridwan@gmail.com ___________________________________________ Talking about national matters has become tiring because it's always beyond what we are made to see, especially the one that has to do with politics, because in most cases, it's a game to me, just as it is to many people. But let me quickly remind you of something. Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and extradited, from wherever country he was, on Tuesday, 29th of June, and was brought back to Nigeria to continue facing trial. When he was in detention, a rumour had it that he said to some reporters that he won't cease pursuing his cause of gaining Independence for Biafra, even if he were killed.  "...even if he were killed", that's the point.  For people in his shoe, who are pursuing a goal of such, they always found it difficult to back down. It's never easy to. The reasons to me include the fact that, all the efforts he had given would be seen as a mere charade by the public. Al
