National Drama

Talking about national matters has become tiring because it's always beyond what we are made to see, especially the one that has to do with politics, because in most cases, it's a game to me, just as it is to many people. But let me quickly remind you of something.

Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and extradited, from wherever country he was, on Tuesday, 29th of June, and was brought back to Nigeria to continue facing trial. When he was in detention, a rumour had it that he said to some reporters that he won't cease pursuing his cause of gaining Independence for Biafra, even if he were killed.

"...even if he were killed", that's the point.

For people in his shoe, who are pursuing a goal of such, they always found it difficult to back down. It's never easy to. The reasons to me include the fact that, all the efforts he had given would be seen as a mere charade by the public. Also, those who are following him on the cause may lose trust in him, and subsequently he might lose their legitimacy. And he needs it.

Although, a real man should understand what he's investing in, whether it's a profitable and achievable goal or not. Here I don't know, I'm just a young boy expressing his mind. Whatever is going to happen, I'm damn sure that as of today, my writing cannot do a thing, but I still must just write. Isn't that right?

As the leader of Biafra agitators has been captured now, the government has now shifted its attention on Sunday igboho. Sunday is agitating for oduduwa Nation for Yoruba people and the guy seems to mean the business. DSS has been hunting him for the past few days and things seems to me like a 'hide-n-seek' just a little bit tougher than the one I'm used with as a kid. In any event, we shall see how it ends. May it not end in War, dear, you don't want to see war. Believe me.

All the dramas, because it seems like one to me, that's going on in the country is basically because of the direction the captains of its ship are faring us and the fear that we may land in a wrong destination. We have been on this voyage for a long time without seemingly real sign of progress, just circling on the sea. If we remain like this, the storm may come and flip our ship, cause it wreck and then we become a diet for sharks and whales. The state of things is saddening and one just has to find joy in closing one's mind's eyes from the ongoings.

You see, you need to relax. Do everything that will make you calm. Don't let tension choke you. Pray, and be hopeful, at least that should soothe your mind and prevent it from exploding.

The state of Nigeria has gone beyond ordinary decadence, it has reached the nadir of it and now those who used to have hope are started losing it. Nevertheless, I must tell you, it can get better, that's my belief though. If you ask me how, I may not be able to provide you with a befitting answer, but that believe of 'it's going to get better', I must hold on to it, it's working for me somehow.

Please note importantly:

Obtain your voters cards, though your votes may not count but just make sure you have it if you're an adult, above 18 as law stipulated. Votes in Nigeria to me is always just a procedure, the kingmakers know themselves. However, we should not feel discouraged because aparthy from the Youths won't make things better.

Our readiness for real change may win gods' hearts to our side. Taking that single step may luckily go a long way. Polical aparthy which has been as result of biases that has polluted our country is the real course of this. I know that we know what we want. We want a nation where our voices would be heard and be taken serious. We want a system of government that protect our rights as humans. We want an election that's fair, free and make our votes count.

Well, we won't get that by folding arms and remain in-active.

Now let's talk about 2023.

Year 2023 is like a match date, when opposing teams are going to compete on the Nigerian field. People are talking about 2023 and whenever they do that, they mention war. Why war? Is it not an election that we are going to have? Maybe a rigged one or something, please someone should enlighten me because I don't seem to understand again?

Whenever I'm hearing about 2023 and a war, I would just smile as if it's going to happen in a movie, not here, on this land of our fathers. You know what? There is no going to be any war. People are tired. People want peace. From the violence that's going on in the country, people want a break. We want to breathe...!

The deaths of thousands through attacks from herdsmen, the kidnapping, Hausa-fulani and Yoruba/Ibo clashes going on in every part of the country is enough a war for us. People want a rest, not another fight. June-12 attack on the protesters is enough as a war. Isn't the Lekki Massacre on the 10th of October 2020 a war itself? Within all these series of wars, which war is still coming? No we don't want War. We want truce, followed by a permanent real peace.

You see, let me remind you of this, it's what you say consistently that your subconscious mind will transmit into reality. There's always this universal force that make things we are anticipating happen. So, know what you say and how to say it. Talk peace, hear peace and see peace, for war will just tear things into pieces.

I read a Newsletter last month and in it was a line which I found interesting,

"If you want to change the world, change the way you talk about it"

This is a mere compound sentence to some but its meaning goes beyond that. We must believe in great thing for it to happen. Saying bad things about our country is not an ideal way to foster unity that will birth progress. As decapitated as Nigeria seems today, there are some parts of it worth being proud of. So, for this reason, start making changes by start talking about this country in a better way, with a better tone.

You understand? I guess so!
